This spot is the one I always prefer. I go to a lot of restaurants but to this restaurant I constantly return again and again. The stuff is very chummy and the cuisine they place on your table is so yummy. I never decline to have a decent dinner in this restaurant. I highly recommend this place.

I never rate anything 5 stars unless its the best. This place was amazing. The location, the atmosphere, the staff. Staff ushered us to our reserved table promptly. Wait staff never let our water or drink glasses go close to empty. Food was amazing, from the appetizer to dessert, i was overly impressed with everything

The Empress Tavern is an intriguing and mysterious experience. It is tucked neatly underground, next to the Crest Theater on Downtown K Street. At first, we didn't even know where the entrance was. It's really mysterious. When you are in the restaurant, it feels like you are in a secret vampire cave! The food is exceptional. Try the Beef Stroganoff. The bread is also yummy. The staff is friendly too. Try out this hidden gem!

Questions & Answers

Yes they are

Definitely

City parking on 10th street north and south of the restaurant. Also cathedral parking available in the alley next to church on 11th street

Yes they do have gluten free with about 30 to 50% of their menu. I am an omnivore, but I've taken gluten-free people there before and they really loved the selection.

No official dress code, but it is upscale-casual. It's quite a California vibe with no mandates.
